Education ministry to meet parents of girls slapped by volleyball coach
Following the incident involving the volleyball team, the education ministry says it is committed to ensuring the safety of students.
PETALING JAYA: The education ministry will meet the parents of the two girls who were slapped by their volleyball coach.

In a video clip which has been making the rounds on social media, a coach is seen slapping two players during the 2022 Malaysia Youth U14 Volleyball Championship in Johor last month, drawing the ire of youth and sports minister Hannah Yeoh, among others.

“The education ministry takes a serious video of the media reports (on this matter) and will hold a meeting with the parents of the students who were involved to obtain more information,” said the ministry in a statement today.

“At the same time, the ministry will continue our investigation. If found guilty, appropriate action will be taken (against the teacher).”
