Fair SOPs for China travellers
Joniston, who is also Sabah Tourism Board (STB) Chairman, is confident that Sabah’s tourism industry will do well this year, especially in view of more direct flights to KK opening up. 
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Government will draw up fair Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) for entry of Chinese travellers into the State and take into account the welfare of various stakeholders involved.State Tourism, Culture and Environment Assistant Minister Datuk Joniston Bangkuai said the State Cabinet would weigh the needs of tourism industry players and tourism-related businesses as well as public health and safety concerns.

“We must strike a balance. The State Government will come up with SOPs acceptable to all and fair to both the tourism industry and the public,” he said after witnessing the presentation of the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) award to prominent adventure guide Tham Yau Kong by British High Commissioner to Malaysia, Charles Hay, at Sabah Tourism Board, here, Wednesday.
