Penampang to host national-level Hawkers and Small Traders Day
Ewon said previously the Ministry’s annual event, which was held on November 18 every year, had never been held outside Putrajaya. He said the time has come for the celebration, which aims to appreciate the contribution of hawkers and small traders to the national economy, to be held in Sabah.
KOTA BELUD: The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperative (Kuskop) will, for the first time, organise a national-level Hawkers and Small Traders Day (HPPK) celebration outside Putrajaya, namely Penampang and the HPPK Mini Carnival in Kadamaian, this year.

Its Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick said previously the Ministry’s annual event, which was held on November 18 every year, had never been held outside Putrajaya.

He said the time has come for the celebration, which aims to appreciate the contribution of hawkers and small traders to the national economy, to be held in Sabah.

“This year the national level HPPK celebration will be held in Penampang. We will also hold a HPPK Mini Carnival at Kadamaian-level to give the hawkers and small traders here an opportunity to celebrate the celebration.

Ewon, who is also a Member of Parliament for Penampang, said he took note of the complaints of the hawkers and small traders who are doing businesses at Taginambur Weekly Tamu.

Following this, he said the State government agreed to allocate RM1 million to implement the Phase 3 development of Taginambur Weekly Tamu in Kadamaian Square for the convenience of hawkers and small traders.
