Unity Government not dependent on Umno
Kota Kinabalu: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim can still count on the support of both Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) and Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) to continue ruling the country albeit with a simple majority.

This is in the event Umno for whatever reason decides to pull the rug from under the feet of Anwar who leads the Pakatan Harapan (PH) Unity Government,

Currently, the PH-led Federal Government enjoys the support of two-thirds or 148 out of the 222 seats in parliament.
They are PH (81), BN (30), GPS (23), GRS (6), Warisan (3), MUDA (1), KDM (1), PBM (1) and Independent (2).

“Let’s say Sabah BN, Warisan and KDM decide to work together to topple the GRS-led Sabah State Government, or that Sabah BN pull out from the GRS State Government and teams up with Warisan and KDM, which goes against the wish of the Prime Minister.

“It will affect the Unity Government at the Federal-level.

“But the PH-led Federal Government with its 81 MPs can still continue leading the country with the support of GPS (23), GRS (6), Muda (1), PBM (1) and the GRS-friendly Independents (2), that provide them 114 MPs or a simple majority.

The Borneo Bloc of GPS and GRS have 31 MPs, including the two GRS-friendly Independents.

Or the other option is for the PH-led Federal Government to work with Perikatan Nasional (PN) which has 52 MPs, and if possible, also PAS which has 22 seats.
