Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan Supreme Council member Azhar Matussin said Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) “must stop fishing for Warisan leaders”.“Some individuals claiming to be Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) members have (allegedly) contacted Warisan elected representatives to join Datuk Seri Hajiji (CM).
“They promised important positions in the Sabah State Cabinet....These individuals claimed that the offer could be personally confirmed by Hajiji and Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim,” he said in a statement, Tuesday.
Azhar, who is also Darau Assemblyman, hoped the allegations were not true because it involved the name of the Prime Minister.
“We ask the Chief Minister to agree to establish this committee (to form unity government) as soon as possible. This is the result of the discussion and the decision proposed by the Prime Minister during his short visit last Monday,” he said.
Azhar believed that a unity government can stabilise Sabah’s political situation.
“I hope Hajiji can accept with an open heart the recommendations from the Prime Minister in order to guarantee the interests and well-being of Sabahans,” he said.
