Unity government needs federal and state cooperation, says FCAS
Goh stressed that the Chinese community wants a stable government so that Sabah is able to rebound and recover the economy.
Kota Kinabalu: For a unity government in Malaysia to achieve its goals and objectives, it needs both Federal and State cooperation.

“You cannot have a unity government only at the federal level but not in Sabah,” said Federation of Chinese Association (FCAS) Sabah President Tan Sri Dr TC Goh.

Speaking to reporters after attending the Federation of Foochow Association of Sabah and Federal Territory of Labuan Chinese New Year dinner here, he said a unity government will provide the stability the State needs to boost its economy.

He stressed that the Chinese community wants a stable government so that Sabah is able to rebound and recover the economy.

According to him, there will be no investors, less job opportunities for the locals if local politicians do not listen to what the rakyat (people) want like peace and unity.

“So let us work together for a better tomorrow and I urge Sabah politicians to listen to the rakyat in Sabah want which are peace and unity,” he said.

Sabah Pakatan Harapan has proposed a unity government at the State level following the challenge of Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor’s 27-month old Gabungan Rakyat Sabah-BN government.
