Phoong dismisses claims of kickbacks
Phoong said ever since Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim grappled over the vote of confidence in Dewan Rakyat on Dec. 19, news of a coup was already brewing in Sabah.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah DAP Secretary Phoong Jin Zhe dismissed claims of Pakatan Harapan (PH) Sabah assemblymen receiving kickbacks or government positions in return for supporting Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

 “The seven of us (Sabah PH reps) never triggered the political unrest but were, instead, forced to make a decision. If people are saying we are being power hungry, please tell them to ask those who initiated the Sutera or Kinabalu Move, whatever you want to call it.

“Never did we intend on toppling the state government nor are we interested. If we really wanted to, we could have done so a long time ago.
