31 make cut to represent Sabah

Kota Kinabalu: A total of 293 young swimmers took part in the 55th Sabah Invitational Age Group Swimming Championships 2023, as Sabah Aquatic Sports Association (Sasa) kick-started their calendar year at the Kota Kinabalu Sports Complex aquatic centre from January 6-8.

The three-day competition was staged to select athletes to represent the State in the upcoming Malaysia Invitational Age Group Swimming Championship, which saw 31 swimmers make the cut under two separate categories.

PJMS Aquatic Swimming Club’s Arish Amin Ronisafihin with six golds, one silver and one bronze was crowned the best overall boy in the competition, while the girl’s title went to Preppies Swimming Club’s (PPSC) Laura Lee Yen Nie with 10 golds, one silver, one bronze in addition to one State record.
