Hajiji has done much for the O&G sector: Council
Harris and Jesselton
Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Oil and Gas Service Council (SOGSC) said Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor has done much in the development of the State’s oil and gas sector.

“We congratulate the State Government under Hajiji’s leadership and SMJ Sdn Bhd (SMJSB) on the positive development and are confident it will bring greater participation of local OGSE players, in line with the aspirations of the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya,” said its Protem President Datuk Harris Tan.

He said the recent passing of Bills related to transfer of gas supply regulatory power from the Federal to the State and the signing of a Head of Agreement (HOA) between SMJSB and Petronas Chemical Group Berhad (PCG) for acquisition of 25 per cent equity interest in Petronas Chemical Fertiliser Sabah Sdn Bhd (PCFSSB) signified a good start.
“All these are due to the efforts of Hajiji and SMJSB. The strategic acquisition is indeed a New Year blessing for Sabah and the fruition of efforts of SMJSB and its executive leadership,” he said.

“SOGSC will work closely with SMJSB to assist in uplifting the local OGSE (oil and gas services and equipment) participation. This should pave the way for more local companies in Sabah to be involved in the development of the industry,” he added.

Harris expressed confidence that SMJSB would uplift and bring more inclusiveness to the local OGSE players in the industry, which is part of the Hala Tuju Sabah Maju Jaya for the oil and gas sector.

The Agreement was signed by SMJSB Chief Executive Officer Dr Dionysia Aloysius Kibat and PCG Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ir.
