BEAUFORT: A 20-year-old woman was among six people arrested here over drug possession. The men are aged between 40 and 51 years old.District Police Chief DSP Yussof Zaki Mat Yaakob said the arrests were the result of a tip-off.
Two men were arrested near Weston when police found them in possession of syabu weighing around 5.14 grams on Monday.
“The two arrests are due to information and drug supply intelligence leading to the success of the drugs seizure of (1) transparent medium size plastic containing chunks of clear crystals suspected to be syabu-type drugs that cost about RM450,” he said
The suspects tested positive for drugs and would be charged under Section 39A and Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Last Wednesday at an unnumbered house in Kg Rancangan Klias police arrested a couple of aged in their 30s and 20s and confiscated five transparent plastic packets from them, the packets estimated weight was 5.43 gm, he said
Both suspects tested positive for drugs and had past record of drug cases under Section 15(1)(a) Dangerous Drug Acts 1952 and the case was also investigated under Section 39A(1) Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Yusoff said although the inspection did not find any incriminating items, the duo tested positive for drugs.
The arrest also led to the arrest of a 51-year-old man and the confiscation of three transparent plastic packets containing crystals suspected to be syabu with an estimated weight of 7.23gm.
The suspect also tested positive for drugs and had a past record of drug abuse. He would be charged under Section 39A(1) and 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
