Kota Kinabalu: Sabah West Coast Consumers Association (SWCCSA) expressed its full support for the leadership of Datuk Seri Panglima Hajiji Haji Noor as Chief Minister until the end of his tenure.
According to its President, David Chan, in the current situation, the people expected political stability to enable the government to implement various welfare programmes for the people instead of a change of leadership.
“Political leaders should sit at the same table if there is disagreement or any difference of opinion instead of changing the government.
“As a consumer association, we really hope for a government that is stable and able to drive the state’s economy while dealing with various consumerism issues, especially the problem of inflation,” he said.
According to him, people today were burdened with the problem of rising prices of goods, thus causing the cost of living to rise.
“The people and consumers need a stable government to help resolve whatever problems faced.
“The leadership of the government and the opposition need to think with one heart and mobilise efforts to help the people instead of arguing with each other,” he said.
He said Hajiji had proven to be able to lead the state, including bringing more than RM6 billion investments to Sabah.
He hoped that such investments would open up more job opportunities and improve the state’s economy.
