BEAUFORT: A 42-year-old civil servant has been arrested for suspected involvement in drugs.

District Police Chief DSP Yusoff Zaki Mat Yaccob said the suspect was arrested at an unnumbered house in Kampung Laugan, here, during OP Tapis.

A preliminary check found that his urine was positive for syabu and the suspect admitted to taking drugs early this year.  Yusoff Zaki said the suspect would be charged under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

Meanwhile in Papar, the police arrested a 50-year-old local for suspected drug offences. The suspect was investigated under Sec. 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 15 (1) (a) DDA 1952.

He tested positive of Meth and seized 5.02 grammes of syabu from the suspect who was arrested in Papar on Tuesday, said District Police Chief DSP Kamaruddin Ambo Sakka. He advised the public to inform IPD Papar at 088-912222 if they have information pertaining to drug abuse.
