PUTATAN: A man said to be a village chief was found dead behind the steering wheel of a Proton Saga parked near the Taman Jumbo shop lots, here, at noon today, a scene which went viral.

District police described the man as a 57-year-old local who was pronounced dead on the spot by Queen Elizabeth Hospital paramedics.

“The body was taken to the hospital's Forensics Department for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death.

“The case is being investigated as sudden death,” said Penampang Police Chief DSP Mohd Haris Ibrahim.

Netizens, meanwhile, identified the victim as the village chief of Kampung Talang Taun, here.
