Tuaran: The State Government has done its utmost to develop the State under the Sabah Maju Jaya Development Plan in 2022, collecting about RM7 billion in revenue so far, according to Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.

The State Government had collected up to RM6.96 billion in revenue as of December 31, he said.

“This vast collection since independence is proof that the State Government today has done its best, hence this shows that we have governed the State well.

“We don’t just do politics, unlike others who only know how to do politics and seek to acquire positions. I am aware that some people are attempting to take over the country in the wrong way.

“This is one of our efforts to restore the State’s economy that was affected by the Covid-19 pandemic so that the people can live in good conditions and prosper.

“I also want to assure the people, especially the Chinese community, that today’s government will continue to do its best through the SMJ Direction to ensure Sabah develops and the people have opportunities in their own State,” he said.

He also expressed delight with the presence of many people of multiple races and religions to celebrate the Chinese New Year with the Chinese community in Tuaran.

“We will ensure that the harmony and unity among the people of multiple races and religions will continue to be strengthened and intensified,” he said, adding he would never forget the Chinese community in Tuaran despite being busy with daily tasks.

Also present were Assistant Minister of Tourism, Culture and Environment cum Kiulu Assemblyman Datuk Joniston Bangkuai; Tuaran Member of Parliament Datuk Wilfred Madius Tangau, Pantai Dalit Assemblyman Datuk Jasnih Daya and Organizer Chairman Frankie Goh.
