LAHAD DATU: Parti Solidariti Tanah Airku (Star) Sabah called on Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Haji Noor to appoint the party’s representative to fill the vacant position of Community Development Leader (PPM) in the Tungku constituency.

Star Sabah Vice-President Apas Nawawi Saking Saking said the Tungku PPM position would be changed while the PPM in the other three State constituencies – Segama, Kunak and Silam – would remain under Sabah People’s United Party (PGRS) representatives.

“As a party in the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS), Star has been the main supporter of GRS in the State Government, therefore, Star representative should be appointed PPM in Tungku,” he said.

Nawawi, who is also Deputy Chairman of GRS Lahad Datu, informed that Star Tungku division led by Suling Isib, a Star Supreme Council Member and Head of GRS Tungku Zone had shown commitment in helping the community in the area.

“Star Tungku has 3,500 registered members and another 1,600 in the registration process,” said Nawawi, who is also the Head of Star Silam Division.

According to Nawawi, Star Lahad Datu had also shown commitment as a member of GRS and if the role of PPM Tungku is given to Star then it will be able to maintain the strength of GRS in all State constituencies here in the upcoming election.
