Kota Kinabalu: A senior citizen today was sentenced to 20 years' jail and ordered to be given 13 strokes of the cane for raping his girlfriend’s disabled teen daughter. 

Sessions Court Judge Elsie Primus handed down the sentence to Richard @ Rich Jawi after ruling that the prosecution had proven its case beyond reasonable doubt.

Richard was found guilty of raping the 17-year-old girl at 1pm on Feb 25, 2018 in a house in Penampang.

He was convicted under Section 376(2)(k) of the Penal Code which carries a jail term of between 10 and 30 years and whipping on conviction.
