12 semi-permanent houses destroyed in Tawau fire

TAWAU: A total of 12 semi-permanent houses were destroyed in a fire in Kg Jawa, Jalan Guru around 12.30pm, Thursday.

Tawau Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) chief, Jemishin Ujin said, 20 officers, including members, two machines and three utilities were deployed to the scene after receiving an emergency call at 12.38pm via MERS999.

The Kg Titingan Community Fire Brigade, police, Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) and Water Department also assisted.

According to him, the operation commander, Rastam Keladi reported that the fire involved a total area of one hectare.
