SANDAKAN: Elopura Assemblyman Calvin Chong slammed the negligence of the Water Department that resulted in a high level of salinity in the water supply here.He said the damage to the Segaliud Water Treatment Plant during a break-in was also due to the lax security system in the area.
“The area was not safe and not strictly monitored, so theft and damage occurred which caused river water to overflow into the plant’s dam, resulting in an increase in the level of salinity in the water supply.
