Warisan ‘not affected’ by action of trio
Wong said they (GRS) continue to delay the anti-hopping law enactment for Sabah as “they want to engineer further defections of assemblymen despite Parliament enacting the law last year”.
Kota Kinabalu: Parti Warisan Vice President Datuk Junz Wong said the departure of three assemblymen has not affected the party and that the party will continue to fight for Sabah rights and play the role to check and balance.

He also called on the Malaysia Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to determine if Ben Chong Chen Bin (Tanjong Kapor), Mohammad Mohamarin (Banggi) and Norazlinah Arid (Kunak) were enticed with monetary gains.

“One of the assemblymen in a video recorded sometime in January openly admitted that millions of ringgit and positions were offered to them to leave Warisan,” Junz claimed, adding “cash is still king”.

The Tanjing Aru Assemblyman accused the Parti Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) of continuing to engineer defections of assemblymen to strengthen its government.

Warisan Vice President Datuk Jailani Sambakong said legal action would be taken on the trio for failing to keep with agreements they made before being named as candidates.

“They signed pledges (saying that) if they quit the party, they would vacate their seats. They even took loyal oaths …therefore, Ben, Mohammad, and Norazlinah should vacate their seats,” he stressed.

Jaujan reminded that Warisan has taken similar legal action against former assemblymen Datuk Hassan A Gani Pg Amir(Sebatik), Datuk Dr Usof Yacob (Sindumin), Datuk Mohamaddin Ketapi (Segama) and Rina Jainal (Kukusan) who defected last year.
