Differing views on rituals expected: Pairin
Ritual specialists and attendees are making their way to the new Sigah site from the roundabout.
PENAMPANG: The Kadazan Dusuns cannot dissociate themselves from the ancestral Momolian beliefs, worldviews and values system, said Kadazan Dusun Cultural Association (KDCA) President Huguan Siou Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan.

Pairin noted that the rituals involving the demolition of the iconic “Sigah” replica at the Donggongon roundabout and the construction of a new one at the new site nearby were met with both positive and negative comments.

These comments, he said, came from not only Penampang folks but also from the multi-ethnic Kadazan Dusuns who know about the event.
