NGO claims funding slashed by up to 60pc: Blame Sabah’s poor roads on Federal

Kota Kinabalu: It is unfair that Sabahans are taxed for ill-maintained roads which is not only a safety threat but a money pit for vehicle maintenance.While locals are quick to blame the State Government, Sabah West Coast Smart Consumer Association President David Chan discovered the problem to be caused by slashed Federal funding.

“I have Public Works Department (PWD) sources who are saying that funding for federal road upkeep has been cut by up to 60 per cent, rendering most concession company jobs unaffordable.
