China-Sabah Short Film and Tiktok Contest to close February 28

Kota Kinabalu: The 5th China-Sabah Short Film and Tiktok Competition, jointly organised by Consulate General of China in Kota Kinabalu and Kota Kinabalu Journalists Association (KKJA) will close on Feb 28.Members of the public are welcomed to participate in the competition and showcase their talents and creativity, while standing a chance to win a total of RM35,000 cash prizes.

The 5th China-Sabah Short Film Competition is also calling for professional and amateur filmmakers who best depict the touching stories that feature the cooperation and enduring friendship between China and Sabah from different perspectives, such as close relations between Sabahans and Chinese citizens and the preservation of Chinese cultures in Sabah.
The films can be of any genre, including but not limited to, documentary, drama and digital animation.

Cosmobeauté Malaysia and beautyexpo will expand into East Malaysia with the launch of the Cosmobeauté Malaysia Borneo Festival 2026 at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) from May 25 to 26.
The competition is divided into short film category and Tiktok category.

For short film category, submissions shall not exceed five minutes, participants are required to fill in the entry form and upload their short films to YouTube.com, set as unlisted and provide the link to the organizer along with the entry form via email to chinasabahshortfilmcontest@gmail.com.

For TikTok category, submissions shall not exceed one minute, participants are required to fill in the entry form and upload their videos to TikTok account and use the hashtag #chinasabahtiktok, and provide the link to the organizer along with the entry form via email to chinasabahshortfilmcontest@gmail.com.

Entry form can be downloaded via the QR barcode or https://bit.ly/3D2513v. Contestants in the short film category can submit only one video, while those in the TikTok category can submit up to three videos. Participants can participate in both the short film and the TikTok categories.

For the Short Films Category, awards up for grab are Gold Award (RM3,000 cash and trophy), Silver Award (RM2,000 cash and trophy) and Bronze Award (RM1,500 cash and trophy) and Consolation Award (RM500 cash and trophy).

For TikTok category, awards are Gold Award (RM1,000 cash and certificate),  Silver Award (RM800 cash and certificate), Bronze Award (RM500 cash and certificate) and Consolation Award (RM300 cash and certificate).
