Philippine Embassy warns its citizens of recruitment syndicates
The Embassy said once they (Filipinos) were recruited, the victims were issued tickets to fly to the assigned country from which they are taken to adjacent countries and brought to remote areas.
Kota Kinabalu: The Philippine Embassy in Kuala Lumpur warns its citizens, including Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Malaysia, to be on the lookout of recruitment syndicates based in Southeast Asian countries luring victims to commit cyber crimes.

In its official website and Facebook account, the embassy noticed that there is an increasing number of Filipinos being illegally recruited from the Philippines and other countries by criminal syndicates based in Southeast Asian countries to commit cyber crimes.

“Filipino victims are enticed by spurious job offer to work as ‘Customer Service Representatives’ or ‘Call Centre Agents’ in Southeast Asian countries,” the post said.
