PUTRAJAYA: Deputy ministers have been given the prime minister’s mandate to focus on implementing the government’s reform agenda quickly, according to deputy communications and digital minister Teo Nie Ching.

Teo said Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim was very focused on the performance of his government and emphasised his desire for all deputy ministers to bring about reforms in a short time.

“He is of the view that the people are impatient and want to see the outcome the soonest possible. This is an important reminder for all who hold positions to give their attention to bring about changes in a short period,” she said after attending a retreat for deputy ministers.

The session lasted over an hour. Teo said the deputy ministers were briefed by several important government figures, such as the Chief Secretary, Zuki Ali, and a deputy secretary-general of the Treasury, Johan Mahmood Merican.
