“This may be another starting point for Sabah to accelerate its development to catch up with the peninsula, so that it no longer lags behind in terms of development and progress since we both formed the nation of Malaysia in 1963,” Nizam added.
Kota Kinabalu: Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah (PGRS) has high hopes that the 2023 Budget will further close the development gap between the three regions of Peninsula, Sabah and Sarawak.

PGRS Information Chief Datuk Nizam Abu Bakar Titingan said the direct special injection of RM6.5 billion to Sabah from the RM388 billion total is an increase of more than three per cent compared to last year.

“In addition to receiving various other allocations such as RM20 billion involving the construction of the Pan-Borneo Highway in both Sabah and Sarawak, the biggest benefit is the allocation of RM1.2 billion to upgrade hundreds of clinics and schools in both states.
