TAWAU: Students and others can take the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) via computer-delivered test at the Anchorage Learning Centre (ACL) here without going to Kota Kinabalu or West Malaysia.

Head of IELTS Operation at IDP Education Ltd, Ravi Krishnan said there are nine IELTS computer-delivered in Malaysia, including three test centres in East Malaysia. Tawau is the third place to have test centre after Kota Kinabalu and Kuching in East Malaysia.

He was speaking in the IELTS Computer-delivered test officially launching in Tawau at the Anchorage Learning Centre, Unijaya Commercial Centre, here, on Friday.

Ravi said IELTS is the world’s most popular high stakes English Language test which is accepted for study and work in many countries, including Malaysia, than any other test.

“Apart from paper-based IELTS, there is a new way for students, graduates, even working adults to take IELTS via computer-delivered method. According to the survey statistic, it is getting popular nowadays with about 90 per cent of the candidates [test takers]. “The results are available within three to five days compared with the paper-based IELTS test, which needs about 14 days to proceed for the results,” he further explained.
