LAHAD DATU: Some 200 children underwent mass circumcision at Masjid Ar Raudah during the ‘Program Berkhatan’ organized by Badan Dakwah Daerah Lahad Datu.

United Sabah Islamic Association (Usia) Deputy President, Datuk Abdul Hakim Gulam Hassan said the programme serves as a good platform to educate the children on the obligation as a Muslim.

Praising the organisation of the programme, Abdul Hakim said it was a noble effort carried out by Badan Dakwah Daerah Lahad Datu to assist the people, especially the underpriviledge.

“This programme also serve as platform to further strengthen the friendship and unity among the community while carrying our their obligations.

“As we can see, the children are not afraid or nervous as they were not alone,” he added.

Prior to the circumcision, the kids were happy after being sprayed with water by the Lahad Datu Fire and Rescue Department.
