Killing former hubby: court sets May 8 for re-mention
Nurima was the first accused charged in the murder case that has attracted nationwide attention since the discovery of the victim’s body on Jan 16. Six policemen and a civilian were also charged in relation to the case.
TAWAU: The court set May 8 for re-mention of the case involving a 33-year-old woman charged with killing her ex-husband, who was an e-hailing driver.Magistrate Leona Dominic Mojiliu set the date for Nurima Juli when her case was brought for mention on Monday.

The prosecution informed the court that the post-mortem and chemist reports are still pending.

On Jan 30 this year, Nurima was charged with killing Nurman Bakaratu, 61, in a palm oil plantation near Jalan Anjur Juara, Jalan Apas, Mile 5, between 7.30pm and 11.30pm on Jan 13, this year.

She was further detained pending the disposal of her case as the charge against her has no provision for bail.

Deputy Public Prosecutor (DPP) Khairul Azreem Mamat, DPP Rohaiza Abdul Rahman and DPP Mohammad Fakhrussi Ahmad Salim appeared for the prosecution while counsel Jhesseny Kang defended Nurima.
