Company fined RM11,000 for having unregistered products
The offence took place at 3pm on June 17, 2022 at the Mi @ Miracle Skin & Aesthetic Centre, Lorong Margosa in Taman Luyang Phase 8, Off Jalan Lintas, here.
Kota Kinabalu: A company was fined a total of RM11,000 for having unregistered products and cosmetics.

KHC Holding Sdn Bhd, through its representative, pleaded guilty before Sessions Court Judge Ummu Khaltom Abdul Samad to the two charges against the company, Monday.

On the first count, the company was fined RM7,000 for having six types of unregistered product namely, five units of Liponex, five units of Glutanex Inj, five units of Asconex Inj, 84 strips of Accunex 100 Soft Caps, five units of Meditoxins and three bottles of Neo -Cain Cream 500g.

The offence took place at 3pm on June 17, 2022 at the Mi @ Miracle Skin & Aesthetic Centre, Lorong Margosa in Taman Luyang Phase 8, Off Jalan Lintas, here.

The products were not registered with the Health Ministry.

The company committed the offence under Regulation 7 (1)(a) of the Control of Drugs and Cosmetic Regulations 1984 and punishable under Section 12(2) of the Drug Sales Act 1952 which carries a jail term of up to three years, or a fine of up to RM50,000 or both, on conviction.

On the second count, the company was fined RM4,000 for having 80 units of Traminex 20g without notifications at the same place and time.

During mitigation, the company’s representative asked for leniency.

However, the prosecution urged the court to impose an appropriate sentence as the act could risk the public’s health as the products were not registered with the Health Ministry and no labels. The company paid the fine.
