Prisons, City Hall extend inmates' community service collaboration

Kota Kinabalu: City Hall and the Prisons Department on Tuesday extended their collaboration which allows inmates to perform community service throughout the city.

The one-year “Compulsory Attendance Order” collaboration was inked between Mayor Datuk Noorliza Awang Alip and Prisons Deputy Commissioner–General Datuk Ibrisam Abdul Rahman, here.

This is the second collaboration between City Hall and the Prisons Department, the first being in 2017.

According to Noorliza, the parameters of the cooperation included providing technical, expertise, courses, intervention, transportation, equipment and medical support to parolees who participate in the programme.
