Filipinos urge embassy to scrap online registration
Many affected Filipinos urged the embassy to scrap the online registration system to allow more applicants to avail the consular services.
Kota Kinabalu: Filipinos who have earlier registered online with their embassy in Kuala Lumpur to avail consular services are now being entertained by the visiting consular team here with not much hassle.

The consular outreach mission designed to assist in the renewal/new passport applications and other consular documentations kicked off Monday and will end on Friday.

Applicants were required to make early online appointments with the embassy to avoid big crowd at the designated venue.

The measure is also in compliance with the protocol of the Sabah Health Department and Ministry of Health.

The five-day consular mission is expected to see a big crowd.

As expected, those who failed to register online were disappointed with the manner the embassy was carrying the ongoing exercise.

Meanwhile, many affected Filipinos urged the embassy to scrap the online registration system to allow more applicants to avail the consular services.

“The Malaysian Government has already eased its Covid-19 health protocols… please allow us to renew our passports, failing which we will be illegal immigrants, jobless, jailed and eventually deported,” they said.
