Pantomime on Lahad Datu tragedy to mark 216th Police Day
SAC Azman Abd Razak of Strategic Policy (Research and Development) of Bukit Aman PDRM said the pantomime will be held to commemorate the dedicated men in blue who died during the tragic episode in defence of Sabah.
Kuala Lumpur: A pantomime of the bloody intrusion in Kampung Tanduo, Lahad Datu that happened 10 years ago is among the special events to commemorate the 216th Police Day at the Kuala Lumpur Police Training Centre (Pulapol), here, this Monday.

SAC Azman Abd Razak of Strategic Policy (Research and Development) of Bukit Aman PDRM said the pantomime will be held to commemorate the dedicated men in blue who died during the tragic episode in defence of Sabah.

“The pantomime (performance of gestures and music) can touch and provoke people for soul-searching which revolves around the bloody battle in Kampung Tanduo which is so synonymous with a black spot in the history of Malaysia,” he said.

He said this during the “Selamat Pagi Malaysia” programme which was broadcast on RTM1 Friday, in conjunction with the coming 216th Police Day Commemoration.

According to him, the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah are also expected to attend the Police Day celebration, aside from Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.

The commemoration themed “Polis dan Masyarakat Berpisah Tiada (Police and Society Undivided)”, which is held every March 25, in appreciation of the loyal police force for their dedicated service in shouldering the trust and responsibility of maintaining peace and security of the country.
