“We will record the statement of Chegubard (Badrul Hisham Shaharin) today to help in the investigation,” he told reporters after the police day celebration at Sentul police headquarters today.

Yeoh’s aide had lodged a police report last week against Badrul for linking the sports ministry to Christian evangelism.

The report said Badrul’s Facebook posting gave the impression that Yeoh had become an evangelist soon after she was appointed youth and sports minister.

Beh said the police had recorded statements from three people – the complainant and two representatives of the NGO – to help in the investigation.

Yesterday, Kuala Lumpur police chief Azmi Abu Kassin said although the programme was cancelled, the police had received reports over the matter.

Last Tuesday, Yeoh told the Dewan Rakyat that no Muslims were involved in the programme.
