Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Umno division meetings could be held again if found to be in violation of the party’s constitutions and meeting rules.
Sabah Umno Chairman Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin said this could be due to voting mismanagement, with votes exceeding the attendance registry or those from ineligible members.
“Sabah Umno received several reports of commotions during the party’s elections this time.
“We request that complaints be made directly to the Central Umno Election Committee Chairman who will investigate each complaint,” he said in a statement, Monday.
The Lahad Datu Umno division delegates meeting at Dewan Sri Perdana on Saturday turned into a brawl between two youth leaders, 33 and 38, resulting in both being injured.

Bung said democratic excitement was felt across Sabah where many ran as candidates despite the party being said to be headed towards decline.
He won unopposed for the position of Umno Kinabatangan Chief.
“The excitement is enough to show that Umno is still relevant even though some may say it will be buried in Sabah following the acts of those who leave to join other parties.
“On the contrary, many have volunteered to contest in this election, including young people, some of whom have been elected division chiefs,” he said.
Bung reminded members to work to restore unity in the party and “forget and forgive mistakes made during the election campaign period.
“We must start this new era with renewed spirit and commitment to empower Umno to return to its rightful place,” he said.
Meanwhile, Datuk Rosnah Abdul Rashid Shirlin retained her position as Papar Women’s Chief as Datuk Abdul Rahman Dahlan did for Tuaran and Datuk Mohd Raffi Datuk Alli Hassan for Labuan.
