Papar Hospital upgrade will benefit over 100,000 people
The sick project to be completed by the end of this year.
PAPAR: More than 100,000 people here and in nearby districts will enjoy better health facilities and services once a project to upgrade Papar Hospital is completed by the end of this year.

Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa said the Federal-funded RM98.5 million project would be operational in March next year.

Describing the project as a sick project, she said the construction of the project started in May 2017 but was facing a delay in completion. 

Its work progress has reached 62 per cent, which is behind schedule, and it was supposed to get 70 per cent now.

Dr Zaliha said the hospital would be equipped with additional 84 beds for the pediatric, women and men wards, bringing 161 beds. 

At the same time, the services to be provided are trauma and emergency unit, x-ray satellite pharmacy, and operation theatres, among others.
