KUNAK: The contractor’s immediate action to repair several potholed and damaged roads that received the attention of the former Deputy Head of the PKR Lahad Datu/Silam Division, Djapri is commendable.
“Thank you PWD and the Daily Express for being concerned about this issue. The contractor in question has already repaired the pothole after the complaint was reported”, he said.
Last Tuesday, Djapri told the media about the damage to the structure of Jalan Kg. Getah with holes and cracks. The damage was neglected for several months and dangerous for road users, including motorists and motorcyclists.
In addition, during the survey, they found several potholes, including at Simpang Tiga, the main route to Pasaraya Servay in Pekan Kunak.
“Today (Thursday), I found that the damage has already been repaired. I understand that the contractor did the repair work last Wednesday”, he said.
He hoped that those concerned would always monitor the condition of the road that needed immediate repair because the road structure that was repaired earlier could reduce the cost of repair, instead of allowing the condition to deteriorate.
“Immediate repair of damaged roads can also save users and their vehicles”, he said.
