SEMPORNA: A foreign man was found dead, while a local woman was unconscious in a car parked in front of a row of shops near the town bus station, Friday.
District police chief Superintendent Mohd Farhan Lee Abdullah said they received information from the public about the incident at 9.10am.
He said the 40-year-old male IMM13 holder died at the scene, while the 25-year-old female victim was sent to Semporna Hospital for further treatment.
Mohd Farhan said that the families of the two victims had already been informed about the incident, and the cause of death had yet to be determined pending post-mortem.
For now, he said, the police have classified the case as sudden death.
Photos and the alleged voice recordings of the incident have gone viral on social media.
Netizens claimed the pair was a husband and wife who died after sleeping in the car with the air conditioner on.
