Kota Kinabalu: Opposing the Mazu statue in Kudat, as has happened under a previous State Government, will not augur well for Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s Malaysia Madani or civilisational values concept.Borneo’s Plight in Malaysia Foundation (BoPiMaFo) President Daniel John Jambun in a statement said any decision not to approve the Mazu construction, even in its original location, would be very unfair.
“It is rotten politics,” he said, referring to Usia President Datuk Sapawi Ahmad maintaining opposition to the construction in its original location on grounds that it is near the Kudat district mosque and might disturb the solemnity of worship.
