Ewon presents copy of Double Six Tragedy Report to Fuad’s family

Kuala Lumpur: Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick visited and presented a copy of the Double Six Tragedy report to the family of the late Chief Minister Tun Fuad Stephens, here, Saturday.Previously, he delivered a copy of the same report to Datin Nancy Mary Mobijohn Mojuntin, wife of the late Datuk Peter Mojuntin, and Datin Jikilin Binion, wife of the late Datuk Darius Binion at their residence.

Ewon said in a Cabinet meeting last Wednesday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had instructed him and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah, Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions) Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali to deliver a copy of the official investigation report to the families of the victims on behalf of the government.
Meanwhile, the families of Tun Fuad, requested that the Australian Government also reveal their (Australian) report of the investigations.

In the incident, Tun Fuad Stephens, who had been sworn in as chief minister just 53 days earlier, died along with 10 others, including state ministers. The others included state ministers Salleh Sulong, Chong Thien Vun and Peter Mojuntin.
