Pedestrian, motorcyclist killed in crash
The accident along Jalan UMS near Kg Rampayan that claimed two lives
Kota Kinabalu: A female pedestrian and a male motorcyclist were killed in a collision along Jalan UMS, near Kg Rampayan, Tuesday.The 56-year-old woman was believed to be crossing the road with her nine-year-old stepdaughter when the 8.45am accident happened.

They were on the way to visit their relatives staying across the road.
The 46-year-old motorcyclist was believed to be heading towards 1Borneo to send his female companion to work, according to Kota Kinabalu Police Chief ACP Mohd Zaidi Abdullah.

The female pedestrian managed to pull her stepdaughter to the side to avoid being hit by the motorcycle, but she herself was fatally hit. The impact caused the motorcyclist to lose control and crashed his motorcycle on the side of the road. He died on the spot due to serious head injuries.

The youngster and the female pillion sustained minor injuries and were sent to the hospital for treatment.

Kota Kinabalu police SIO ASP Razman, Insp. Amirul and Sergeant Wati were at the scene to investigate.
