Wild boar hunting ban remains: Until Sabah is declared free of ASF, says Jeffrey

Kota Kinabalu: Wild boar hunters are told to keep their fingers off the triggers until the State is declared completely free of the African swine fever (ASF).

Wild boar meat is a prized delicacy among local natives and the most popular way to prepare it is on an open flame. A kilogramme of sinalau bakas (in Kadazandusun) or barbequed wild boar can fetch RM50 upwards.

Many have been calling for the wild boar hunting ban in Sabah to be lifted since it was imposed in February 2021.
