Kota Kinabalu: A two-day Consular Facilitation Session will be held by the High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur at the Sabah Indian Association Hall along Jalan Maktab Sabah, here, beginning April 29.
The 9am-4pm session is aimed at addressing queries and resolving grievances related to various consular services provided by the Mission.
It is intended for applicants who are not able to reach out to the Mission in regular course due to various reasons, according to a statement from the High Commission of India, Kuala Lumpur, here, Thursday.
The broad categories of issues which would be addressed during the Consular Facilitation Session pertain to passport-related services (renewal/lost/damaged passports), including Emergency Certificates, registration of births; attestation of personal, legal and commercial documents and matters related to Indian workers.
In view of several requests received from community organisations, the Mission will also organise an awareness session for those desirous of applying for an OCI card.
Accordingly, the session will touch on outlining the procedure for applying for OCI card, eligibility criteria along with the list of admissible supporting documents, re-issuance and updating of OCI card, and conversion of PIO Card to OCI card.
In order to enable Mission officials to effectively address the issues raised during the session, prospective applicants are advised to carry all relevant documents pertaining to the consular services they wish to apply for.
