KLUANG: Wildlife rangers are tracking a herd of elephants which have been spotted at a residential settlement in Taman Sri Lambak here, causing the 500 residents to fear for their safety.

Johor wildlife and parks director Aminuddin Jamin said the department was tracking the herd of elephants and would later relocate the herd away from the settlement.

He said the department would monitor the whereabouts of the elephants. “These animals cannot be caught or shot at will because it is feared that they will react unexpectedly, including going berserk,” he said.
