PETALING JAYA: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has successfully brought back a suspect involved in the agency’s investigation of the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) and SRC International Sdn Bhd (SRC) cases.
A source said the suspect, who is being investigated by the MACC on suspicion of receiving money from the misappropriation of 1MDB and SRC funds, arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2) at 3.30am on Wednesday.
Upon his arrival at KLIA2, the man, who had been missing since 2018, was handed a notice to appear at MACC headquarters in Putrajaya at 10.00am yesterday.
MACC officers then recorded his statement, and his house was searched on the same day.
When contacted, MACC chief commissioner Azam Baki confirmed the arrest.
