Kota Kinabalu: Sabah has been lagging behind in comparison to other states such as Penang and Selangor in terms of industrialisation.
Sabah Ministry of Industrial Development and Entrepreneurship (MIDE) Political Secretary Chan Loong Wei said the Minister Phoong Jin Zhe quoting the June 2022 Malaysia Economic Monitor that was published by the World Bank Group.
“The report took Sabah as a case study on how the state should catch up with economic development of others in Malaysia. This is also why the Ministry is adopting the “leapfrog” approach to develop Sabah.
“SK Nexilis and SBH Kibing Solar are the potential game changers for Sabah’s industrialisation. It is also important for the government to work hard to build better infrastructure to strengthen investors’ confidence,” he said in a statement.
