BEAUFORT: Police personnel here have been warned to conspire with drug dealers or addicts and continue carrying out their entrusted responsibilities.
This was Beaufort Police Chief Yusoff Zaki Mat Yaccob’s message at the pinning of ranks ceremony. He said people put their trust in the police, therefore, duties must be carried out with utmost responsibility and integrity.
“The police must redouble their efforts to crack down on drug addicts and dealers because as long as addicts and dealers are on the loose, the peace and harmony of the community will always be at stake.
“Apart from other crime, drugs also cause domestic instability leading to divorce and family separations,” he said.
Yusoff said since he was transferred to Beaufort, many addicts and dealers have been arrested because that is one of the causes of various cases, including theft and others.
He congratulated the narcotics department and other crime branches that have succeeded in cracking down on addicts and dealers by simply wanting to save young people and the community from the harmful effects of drugs.
Yusoff Zaki went on to encourage officers and members to continue to intensify self-discipline and avoid corruption.
“Corruption is contemptible because it involves wealth and if we receive remuneration or bribes it is also illegal.
“Our family members will also be eating the proceeds of corruption, so avoid it at all costs.
“Stop corruption. Those who give and receive bribes are guilty and even if we don’t see it, God will definitely see and record our mistakes,” he said.
