Anwar to announce plans
PRIME Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim is expected to make several announcements related to Sabah’s development during a working visit to personally assess some of the issues Sabahans are facing – something rarely done by any previous PM.

This was revealed during a meeting between Anwar and Sabah Pakatan Harapan (PH) Members of Parliament and State Assembly members to discuss the State’s development agenda in Putrajaya.

Among those present were Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Minister Datuk Ewon Benedick (Penampang MP) and Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Sabah and Sarawak Affairs and Special Functions) Datuk Armizan Ali (Papar MP).
Ewon said the discussion covered the Unity Government’s commitment to Sabah’s development goal, particularly in reference to entrepreneurship and basic infrastructure.

He said the MPs and assemblymen who were present provided a variety of issues to the Prime Minister that included water supply, roads, dilapidated schools, health clinics and entrepreneurial development.

“This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Federation of Malaysia. As a result, we informed the Prime Minister about the people of Sabah’s development wishes and needs, so that the Federal Government can send additional funding to address various development requirements in Sabah.

“The Prime Minister is committed to the people’s demands and we hope that this year’s 60th Malaysia Day celebration will have more meaning for the people of Sabah,” said Ewon, in a statement on May 9.
