Next Kamaatan to be viewed worldwide: Jeffrey

TAMBUNAN: Deputy Chief Minister I, Datuk Seri Dr Jeffrey Kitingan said the Kaamatan celebration will be screened worldwide from next year, so that the world community can watch.

He said this was one of the reforms made to internationalise the festival whereby global citizens could see these celebrations via online TV.

“This  year, some of the reforms have been held at both the Mukim and district levels involving the best production competition such as best pineapple or jackfruit products,” he said, after opening the district-level Kaamatan Festival here.

 Earlier in his speech, Jeffrey, who is also State Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Industry, said Tambunan district was vigorous as the first to celebrate the Kaamatan Festival at the mukim level.
