SIPITANG: The State Government has allotted RM48 million to be distributed through a variety of special education aid to improve educational performance in Sabah this year.
State Science, Technology and Innovation Minister Datuk Dr Ariffin Arif said the initiative is a continuation of the special education aid that was put in place last year by Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor.
According to Ariffin, RM45 million was allocated for the same effort which involved 10 special education assistance programmes last year.
This year, RM3 million more was allocated for new development programmes.
There are two extra programmes, notably Bantu, designated for religious programmes and language and literary development programmes, in addition to the current special education aid.
“Thus, I call on all schools, including the Parents and Teachers Associations, to take advantage of this special assistance.
“Applications can be made online with the Special Duties Office under the Deputy State Secretary (TSKN),” he said after officiating the Malaysia Madani Forum and WAM2Care programme, here, Tuesday.
