Kota Kinabalu: The uniqueness of Kebaya clothing deserves to be promoted for tourism, said State Community Development and People’s Well-being (KPMKR) Minister Datuk James Ratib.
“The rapid changes in fashion can cause the community, especially the younger generation, to forget about traditional clothing such as the Kebaya which should be a symbol of pride and splendour.
“Kebaya is a design that is timeless because it can be injected with various modern elements, making this fashion to have high aesthetic value. Not to mention it is a national heritage and young people need to appreciate this.
